MASTIPHAL: 'Damnatio Memoriae' Double-CD Digipack Now Available

September 29, 2009

A double-CD digipack from one of the most important Polish black metal bands of the '90s, MASTIPHAL, was made available on September 25 via Witching Hour Productions. Entitled "Damnatio Memoriae", the set contains the group's entire discography and, as a special bonus, footage of band performing live in 1994 as well as the remastered audio track from that concert.

"We had a lot of questions regarding our stuff," explains Flauros, vocalist for MASTIPHAL and DARZAMAT. "Unfortunately, our former labels stopped the distribution of the old materials. So when this new opportunity from Witching Hour Productions arose, we had no doubts that it was worth to prepare the re-release."

Although there are rumors of a possible MASTIPHAL reformation, Flauros says that the band is not ready to make an announcement regarding any future plans.

"We had a few rehearsals during which we jammed some noisy and dirty black'n'roll, so if we decide to record something new, you can be sure it will be without compromises," he explains. "Of course, there's a question of getting the band together. Maybe this time it could work out. But for now we don't want to make any statements."
